For a second time, Chevo Consulting, LLC (Chevo), a woman-owned small business providing management consulting services to the federal government, was honored with the Workplace Excellence Seal of Approval by the Alliance for Workplace Excellence (AWE).
The Alliance has recognized the Washington, D.C. area’s best places to work for the past fourteen years. The Alliance for Workplace Excellence will host its Annual Awards Luncheon on May 15, 2013, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Bethesda North Marriott Hotel and Conference Center. Sixty-eight businesses will be honored at the event, and more than 450 area business executives are expected to attend.
Prior to the Award Luncheon at between 10:00 and 11:30 a.m., AWE will host a Panel Discussion on Trends in Workplace Excellence 2013. A panel of experts will discuss the latest trends in Workplace Excellence for 45 minutes and then meet the experts for round table discussions where they will answer your questions and further discuss the current trends in workplace excellence.

Phil Sahady, President of Chevo Consulting, was the guest speaker at the M2D2 (Monthly Downtown DC Meeting) held on September 17, 2012. The M2D2 sessions are monthly luncheon meetings sponsored by the Washington DC Chapter of the Project Management Institute (PMIWDC), which strives to promote the profession of Project Management by and for its members; provide opportunities for project management education and the professional development of its members; and provide a framework for professional networking and social interaction among its members.
The event, attended by approximately 25 members of the Project Management community, was focused on the topic of Firm Fixed Price (FFP) Contracting. Mr. Sahady gave a presentation titled FFP Contracting: Does Either Side Win?
The Department of Labor (DOL) executes the third of four option years for Chevo's contract for Program and Project Management Support services. Under this contract Chevo provides DOL and the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) Aquisition and Program Management support, including the planning, execution, and mangement oversight related to the operations and enhancements of the New Core Financial Management System (NCFMS).
Chevo Consulting, LLC (Chevo) was competitively awarded a four-year, $1.6M Task Order under the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) Total Information Processing Support Services (TIPSS-4) contract to provide Program Management Support services on the Electronic Fraud Detection System (EFDS) Program. Under this contract Chevo will provide Program/Provide Management, Requirements Management, Systems Integration, and Risk and Issue management services to the EFDS Program Office. This was the first competitively awarded Task Order under the TIPSS-4 MBOSS contract.

The IRS competed its first Management/Business Operations Support Services (MBOSS) and Cybersecurity suite of indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contracts, called TIPSS-4 SB, which have a 10-year period of performance (one base-year and nine one-year options) and a program ceiling of $2 billion. These contracts are the primary procurement vehicles for technology-related services within the Internal Revenue Service and other Treasury bureaus.
Thirty-six companies were selected as prime contractors on this multiple award contract vehicle among the industry’s best small business competitors. They will be providing support across functional areas which will require high-level project management skills and tools for managing, tracking, reporting, and transitioning on large-scale systems, and maintaining configuration management controls and all aspects of systems security as it relates to Government practices, policies, and procedures, such as risk analyses and the development of recommendations and implementation, and plans for new procedures and changes to existing systems.
The TIPSS-4 SB contract is designed to provide a full range of information processing support services for project and program level support and Cybersecurity related services that maybe required across virtually all software languages and hardware platforms throughout the period of performance of the contract. As one of the selections, Chevo Consulting, LLC (Chevo) leads the industry in providing technology support services.
